Creating Classes
A class is simply a group of students who are taught together — "Math A", "Physics 101", "Quran Level 2". You give it a name, assign teachers to it, and put students in it.
Placeholder. See how to create a class, assign teachers, add students, and check its weekly schedule.
Creating a class
- In the left sidebar, click Classes.
- Click Create at the top of the list.
- Fill in the form:
| Field | What to enter | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Name | What you call this group. Up to 255 characters. | Yes |
| Teachers | Pick one or more teachers from your center. You can leave this empty and add teachers later. | No |
- Click Save.
That's the whole form. A class has no fee, capacity, or timetable of its own — those live elsewhere, as explained below.
Tuition is set per student, not per class. Monthly and registration fees are on each student's own record — see Managing Students.
Every teacher you assign gets a notification that they've been added to the class. You can turn that off in Notification Settings.
Is the class in person, online, or hybrid?
That isn't a setting on the class itself, because one class can meet in the building on Monday and online on Thursday. You choose it for each session in the weekly schedule:
| Option | What it means |
|---|---|
| In person | Students come to your physical location. No meeting link. |
| Online | Students join by video. A meeting link can be created for the session. |
| Hybrid | Both — students can come in or join online. |
You set this when you build the schedule. See Using the Calendar.
Adding students to a class
There's no "add student" button on the class page. Students are placed into a class from their own profile:
- Go to Students and open the student (or click Create for a new one).
- Choose the class from the Class dropdown.
- Click Save.
A student can be in one class at a time. Moving them to another class simply changes that dropdown. To bring in many students at once, see Bulk Import.
Looking at a class
Click any row in the classes list to open it. You'll see four tabs.
| Tab | What's on it |
|---|---|
| Summary | How many students and teachers the class has, when it was created, plus Edit and Delete. |
| Teachers | Every teacher assigned to this class. Click a name to open their profile. |
| Students | Every student in this class. Click a name to open their profile. |
| Schedule | The class's weekly sessions, grouped by day, with times, teacher, and delivery type. |
The Teachers, Students, and Schedule tabs are read-only — they show you what's there, and you make changes from the student's profile, the Edit form, or the calendar.
If the Schedule tab says no schedule has been set yet, build one in Using the Calendar.
Editing a class
- Open the class and go to the Summary tab.
- Click Edit.
- Change the Name or the Teachers list.
- Click Save.
The teacher list you save replaces the old one. To remove a teacher, untick them here and save — there's no separate remove button. Teachers who are newly added get a notification; ones who were already there don't get told again.
Deleting a class
From the Summary tab, click Delete and confirm.
Deleting a class doesn't move its students anywhere, and it doesn't unlink the courses or schedules attached to it. Reassign the students and check any courses tied to the class before you delete it, so nobody loses access to content they were watching.
Who can do this
Working with classes depends on what your role allows: viewing the list, creating a class, editing one, and deleting one are each granted separately. A center owner can do all four. See Roles & Permissions.
Teachers can see the classes they teach from their own portal, but they can't rename, create, or delete a class — that's an admin job.
Common questions
"Plan limit reached" when I try to create a class. Your subscription caps how many classes your center can have. Delete a class you no longer use, or upgrade — see Paying for Your Subscription.
A teacher says they never got notified. Check that the class-assignment notification is switched on for your center in Notification Settings. If you expected it on WhatsApp, also confirm your WhatsApp connection is active — see Connecting WhatsApp.
I can't find where to set the class times. Not on this form. Weekly sessions are built in the calendar — see Using the Calendar.
A student is in the wrong class. Open the student's profile and change their Class dropdown. Nothing else needs doing.
